Mari McCarthy joined the Lasell Sports Medicine staff in November 2020 as an interim athletic trainer. McCarthy returned to Lasell to where she received two degrees, graduating in 2019 as an Athletic Training major and receiving her Master of Science degree in 2020 in Rehabilitation Sciences. She also worked in athletic training at Babson College in 2019-20.
"The Department of Sports Medicine is excited to announce Mari as the newest member of the sports medicine team," said Lasell director of sports medicine Christopher Noyes. "We enjoyed working with her while she was an undergraduate, and we welcome Mari back to Laser Nation."
During her undergraduate years, McCarthy served as an athletic training student at Lasell, Regis College, Harvard University, The Rivers School in Weston, Mass., and Brandeis University. She also completed an internship with the Boston Cannons. McCarthy worked in various roles in all of her positions, including preventative and rehabilitative care, injury evaluation, and orthopedic care.
"I am excited to be working at Lasell University where I started my journey as an undergraduate student to become an Athletic Trainer," said McCarthy. "The Lasell Athletic Training room is where I had my first clinical rotation and was able to learn so much as a student. I am thankful to have the opportunity to do the same for the current student-athletes."
