Newton, MA - The Lasers take home three out of four weekly GNAC awards. 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brenden Joyce, Lasell (Gr., OH/OPP)

Graduate student Brenden Joyce was an instrumental piece to Lasell's 4-0 week. He had a .386 hitting percentage, which led to a 3.08 kills per set average. He had three double-digit kill showings, including finishing 13 attacks in in a 3-2 win over No. 1 Wentworth. He followed that up with 10 kills against Dean in a three-set sweep. His final big performance came in a 3-1 win over Rivier in, which he completed 15 attacks with just one error. In addition to his kill numbers, Joyce also had four aces on the week.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Theo Zaharewicz, Lasell (Jr., OH)

Junior Theo Zaharewicz contributed in a big way to two of Lasell's victories this week, including a win over No. 1 Wentworth on Tuesday (March 26). He had 11 digs in that five-set win and two blocks. Later in the week, he contributed six digs and two more blocks to a 3-1 win over Rivier. For the week, he averaged 1.89 digs per set and 0.44 blocks per set.

SETTER OF THE WEEK

Jesus Garcia, Lasell (Gr., S)

Graduate student Jesus Garcia eclipsed the 40-assist plateau in both matches he participated in this week for Lasell. He started with 47 helpers in a five-set win over No. 1 Wentworth, adding nine digs, two blocks, and a kill to the performance. Followed that up by setting up 45 finishes in a 3-1 win over Rivier. He also had a kill, a block, and six digs against the Raiders. For the week, he averaged 10.22 assists per set.
