GNAC: Lasell to open GNAC post-season in women’s soccer, field hockey, and cross country

NEWTON, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) post-season gets underway this Saturday, October 30, and Lasell University's women's soccer, field hockey and men's and women's cross country teams will suit up in search of a conference championship.

WOMEN'S SOCCER: Lasell will make its 14th consecutive appearance in the GNAC playoffs this Saturday when the second-seeded Lasers (11-4, 11-2) host seventh-seeded Regis College (8-5-2, 7-4-2) at 7:30 p.m. at Brandeis University. The two teams just met on Wednesday in the regular season finale at Regis, with Lasell taking a 1-0 victory to clinch the #2 seed. Lasell is looking for its first GNAC Tournament title since winning eight championships in a row from 2010-17. (Lasell's GNAC Tournament History)

FIELD HOCKEY: Lasell will make its seventh straight appearance in the GNAC playoffs since joining the conference in 2014. The sixth-seeded Lasers (7-10, 6-5) will travel to four-time defending champion and third-seeded Saint Joseph's College of Maine (13-4, 9-2) Saturday for an 11 a.m. matchup. Lasell dropped a 3-0 outcome to the Monks in the regular season contest back on October 2 in Standish, Maine. Lasell is seeking its fourth straight GNAC title game appearance, having been defeated by St Joe's in the last three championship games (2017-18-19). (Lasell's GNAC Tournament History)

CROSS COUNTRY: Lasell is gearing up to compete with the rest of the conference schools in the annual GNAC Championship races this Saturday at Franklin Park in Boston. The women's 6K race will shoot off at 2:30 p.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 3:15 p.m. Colby-Sawyer College was picked to win both team titles in a pre-race coaches' poll conducted earlier this week, receiving eight of 11 first-place votes from the women's coaches and eight of 10 top votes from the men's coaches. Lasell was picked seventh out of 11 in the women's poll and ninth out of 10 in the men's poll. (Lasell's Men's and Women's GNAC History)
