Newton, MA - The Lasell Lasers Women's Lacrosse team fell in their season finale, dropping a 21-8 game to Emmanuel. The Lasers end their season 2-14 overall and 2-11 in GNAC play. The Saints are 13-4 and 10-3.
The Saints got out to an early 5-1 lead, with the Lasers getting a goal from Teresa Kessner. Lasell then ripped off three straight goals to make it 5-4. Those goals were scored by Kaitlin Bedell and Sam Jones, with Bedell scoring two of them. The Saints then scored twice in the final 90 seconds of the quarter to take a 7-4 lead. The Saints took control of the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Lasers 9-1, with the lone goal for Lasell coming from Teresa Kessner. The Saints led 16-5 at the half.
The Lasers were outscored 4-1 in the third, with the lone goal coming from Eileen McCarthy. It was the first goal of her career.
The Lasers got a goal from Emily Chapdelaine to start off the fourth. Playing in her last career game, the goal marked the 100th career point for Chapdelaine, making her just the 16th player in school history to reach that mark. The Lasers also got a fourth quarter goal from the other 100 point player on the team, Teresa Kessner.
The Lasers were led by Teresa Kessner's three goals. Kaitlin Bedell led the team with five ground balls in addition to her two goals. Emily Chapdelaine finished her last game with five draw controls, bringing her career total to 120, good for eighth in school history. Shannon Borbee had the lone caused turnover for the Lasers.
