Cross Country Competes at GNAC Championships

(BRISTOL, R.I.) The Lasell Cross Country team competed in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships on Saturday, October 28th at Colt State Park. Junior Ryan Dalaba (North Granville, NY) was the top performer of the day with a 16th place finish in a competitive field. Dalaba's finish time on the difficult 8K course was 29:28 leading the Lasell Men to a 7th place team finish. Matt Holden (Methuen, MA) was the next Laser to cross the finish line in 46th place followed by seniors Troy Gonsalves (Providence, RI) in 53rd and Kyle Vonick (Wethersfield, CT) in 54th. Sophomore Kevin Wallin (Billerica, MA) was 64th and Kyle Mullen (West Newbury, MA) in 65th to close out the scoring for the Lasell team.

Sophomore Karli Manship (Pittsfield, MA) was the top women's finisher for the Lasell women leading the team to a 10th place finish. On a challenging 5K course, Manship placed 42nd overall in 23:05 with classmate Maggie McGovern (Worcester, MA) next to finish for the Lasers in 70th place. Senior Lauren Lenahan (Weymouth, MA) was close behind in 72nd place with freshman Amanda Hawkes (Billerica, MA) in 83rd and senior Shannon Hart (Mashpee, MA) finishing 92nd overall.

Seniors Troy Gonsalves and Shannon Hart were named as the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team for the Lasell team, an honor given to one male and one female from each team in the GNAC. 

The Lasell Cross Country team concludes the season at the NCAA D111 New England Regionals on Saturday, November 11th in Gorham, Maine hosted by the University of Southern Maine.
