Wenham, MA (9/23/17) – The Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams returned to action on Saturday competing at the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon College.

The women returned to the Pop Crowell Invite hoping to improve from their 8^th place in 2016 and accomplished their goal moving up two spots to place 6^th.  The women ran well as team with freshman Amanda Hawkes (Billerica, Mass.) leading the Lasers with a 52^nd place in 23:04 followed closely by sophomore Karli Manship (Pittsfield,Mass.) in 54^th finishing in 23:09. Freshman Maggie McGovern (Worcester, Mass.) finished in 64^th while seniors Lauren Lenahan (Weymouth, Mass.) and Shannon Hart (Mashpee, Mass.) finished in 70^th and 98^th respectively.

The men's team finished 7^th overall in a 13 team race with Ryan Dalaba (North Granville, N.Y.) placing 5^th overall to lead the Lasers. Dalaba, who placed 16^th last year as a sophomore, finished with a time of 28:49 on a warm day. Senior Nick Garifalos (Spotswood, N.J.) was the next Laser to finish in 24^th place followed by Kyle Vonick (Weathersfield, Conn.) in 42^nd place and Troy Gonsalves (Providence, R.I.) finished in 71^st. Sophomores Kevin Wallin (Billerica, Mass.) finished in 87^th and Kyle Mullen (West Newbury, Mass.) placed 93^rd.  

The Lasell cross country teams will have the next two weekends off returning to competition at the Saints Invitational hosted by Emmanuel College in Boston on Friday, October 13^th
