Manchester, Conn. (9/9/17) - The men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Bantam Invitational hosted by Trinity College at Wickham Park on Saturday afternoon.
The men's team finished 9th in the invite, led by junior Ryan Dalaba (North Granville, N.Y.), with a team-leading 18:05 good for 35th place overall. Junior James Phelps (Westbrook, Maine) and senior Nick Garifalos (Spotswood, N.J.) worked together all race to place three spots apart in the event, while sophomore Matt Holden (Methuen, Mass.) and senior Kyle Vonick (Weathersfield, Conn.) rounded out the top five for the Lasers.
The women's team finished 10th overall led by freshman Amanada Hawkes (Billerica, Mass.) who clocked in at 24:11 in the 5K. Freshman Maggie McGovern (Worcester, Mass.), sophomore Karli Mansip (Pitssfield, Mass.), and senior Lauren Lenahan (Weymouth, Mass.) followed close behind Hawkes, while senior Shannon Hart (Mashpee, Mass.) rounded out the top five.
The Lasers will be back in action on September 23 at Gordon College for the Pop Crowell Invitational.
