Women's Cross Country Competes in UMass Dartmouth Invite

NEWTON, Mass. (9/19/15) – The women's cross country team placed 38th overall at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Jaimie Russo (Watertown, Mass.) crossed the line first for the Lasers for the second race in a row at 21:25.75. Senior Rachel Knuth (Warwick, N.Y.) returned to the dirt and finished second at 23:32.04, shaving 2:04 off her last race at Fitchburg State.

Junior Nora McCabe (Cranston, R.I.) made her 2015 debut and was second in line for Lasell, as she finished the course in 25:25.76 with an averaged mile time of 8:11.1.

Next, junior Elizabeth Bennett (Warwick, R.I.) finished with a solid performance, as she clocked in at 26:17.72. Sophomore Shannon Hart (Mashpee, Mass.) trickled in minutes later at 29:12.90, improving .32 seconds faster than her previous race at Fitchburg.

For their next race, the Lasers will head to the Elms College Invite on Saturday, September 26.
