LAMBERT, VANTINE SET NEW PERSONAL RECORDS IN 4TH PLACE FINISH AT FRANKLIN PARK

Zachary Lambert, a junior from Marlborough, Mass., set a new overall personal record at the Saints Invitational at Franklin Park, on Friday.  Lambert finished the 8K race in 25th place with a time of 29:13 to help the Lasers to a fourth place finish. 

The Fourth Annual Saints Invitational consisted of fifteen colleges and universities, with 112 women's runners completing the 5K course and 85 men's runners completing the 8K course.  Lasell's men's cross country team finished in fourth place, and the Lasers' women's team finished in 7th.

Grant Vantine (Fitchburg, MA) also ran a new collegiate personal best at the Saints meet.  Vantine finished at 32:56, taking nearly a minute off his previous career best. 

Christopher Johnson (Gloucester, MA) and David Walsh (Springfield, MA) each picked up their top race times for the Franklin Park course, with Johnson completing in 16th place with a time of 28:32, and Walsh crossing the finish at 29:09 in the 22nd spot.

For the Lasers women, Meghan Missett (Lowell, MA) was the top finisher at 34th place and a time of 22:27.  Missett was followed shortly afterwards by freshman Amanda Driscoll (Roslindale, MA) in 38th place at 22:40.

The third Lasell woman to finish was Ariella Harrington (Woburn, MA) running a 23:17 and finishing in the 46th spot.  Also running solid races for the Lasers were Christina Lombardi (Marlborough, MA) and Lauren Darrah (Beverly, MA) who completed with times of 23:48 and 23:56 respectively.

Johnson & Wales picked up the first place finish overall on the men's side, while Wheaton College took top honors on the women's side.

Lasell has a week off to get ready for the GNAC Championships at St. Joseph's College, Maine which will take place on Saturday, November 1st, in Standish, Maine.
