Jeff Vautrin enters his fourth year as Head Coach of the Lasell University men's volleyball program in 2022-23 and third year as Head Coach of the women's volleyball team.

During the 2022 men's volleyball season, Vautrin powered the Lasers to a No. 15 ranking and received one first-place vote Monday in the NVA/AVCA Men's Division III Coaches poll. This was the first time in the history of the men's volleyball program that the team received a first-place vote in the Division III national rankings. It also marks the first time that the program has been nationally ranked with Vautrin at the helm.

On March 1, 2022, the Lasers defeated No. 1-ranked Springfield, 3-1, marking the program's first-ever victory over Springfield and the first time the squad has defeated the No. 1-ranked team in the country. Lasell also defeated No. 5-ranked Wentworth, 3-1, on Feb. 19. The Lasers placed two student-athletes on the All-Conference first team, three on the third team and two on the All-Rookie team. Jordan Shinaut was named the GNAC's Rookie of the Year after taking home the final seven Rookie of the Week honors from the conference office.

At the conclusion of the season, Shinaut became the first student-athlete in program history to earn All-American honors, as he was named to the National Volleyball Association/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III All-America honorable mention team. Additionally, Brenden Joyce, Jesus Garcia and Shinaut became the first-ever student-athletes with the program to earn AVCA Division III All-Northeast Region team honors, while Shinaut also took home the AVCA's Northeast Region Newcomer of the Year accolade.

A 2017 Lasell graduate and former standout for the Lasers men’s volleyball team, Vautrin coached three Lasers who earned All-GNAC honors in 2020, including a pair of second team honorees in Scott Sterenberg and Jesus Garcia and third team honoree Cobi Moore. During the 2021 fall season, he coached the women's volleyball team to a 16-13 overall record and 7-6 mark in the GNAC, as the team qualified for the postseason tournament. Sabine Milton was named to the GNAC All-Conference second team and the All-Rookie squad. McKenna McCool was also named to the All-Rookie team.

Vautrin previously served as an assistant for two years with the Lasell men’s team and one year with the women’s program. He also has experience coaching for the Acton-Boxborough Regional boys’ and girls’ volleyball programs for two years, helping the teams win conference championships both seasons. He has been an assistant for the last few years at SMASH Volleyball Club, one of the top junior programs in New England. Vautrin also has experience coaching for Spike and Serve Volleyball Club in Hawaii, which is one of the top club programs in the entire country.

Vautrin played three and a half seasons for the Lasers from 2014-17, missing the second half of the 2016 season with an injury that granted him an extra year due to a medical hardship. He became just the second player in program history to record 1,000 kills and finished with 1,064 career kills. Vautrin was a three-time selection to the Al-GNAC team, including twice on the first team. He was named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team in 2014, and was a key player on the 2015 Laser squad that captured the GNAC championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

A native of Chicopee, Massachusetts, Vautrin was also the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Year and Tournament MVP his freshman year while playing at Elms before transferring to Lasell.
