WVB: Lasers Sweep Tri-Match, Run Win Streak to 14

New London, CT - The Lasell University Women's Volleyball continued their winning ways, winning against Mitchell (3-1) and NEC (3-0) on Saturday. The Lasers are now 16-1 on the season, and 7-0 in GNAC play. They have now won 14 straight games, and are approaching the school record for winning streak by any sport, 18 by the 2016 Women's Soccer team.

Match One vs Mitchell

The Lasers were tripped up in the first set after the Mariners scored the last six points of the set to win the first set. But after that the Lasers were able to cruise, and won the match 18-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-15. The Lasers were led on Offense by Tori Scambray (14 kills) and McKenna McCool (12 kills). Sydney Katz was stellar, recording 37 set assists, tied for the 19th most in program histroy for a four set match. Maddie Caro would record 21 digs, and Camila Lopez had 11.

Match Two vs NEC

After finishing the last match with a 25-15 set, the Lasers kept the momentum going, winning the first two sets of the second match 25-14 and 25-16. They would wrap things up in the third set with a 25-21 set win. It was the Katz and McCool show once again, as they would team up quite a bit. McCool finished with 16 kills, while Katz had 28 set assists, giving her 65 for the day. Lopez led the way with nine digs, one more than Caro. Juliana Medini had eight total blocks, more than half the team total of 15.

Up Next - The Lasers will next play on Wednesday when they host Emmanuel at 7pm.
