Lasell Women’s Volleyball player repeats GNAC Weekly Honor

NEWTON, Mass. – The starting libero on the Lasell College women's volleyball team has been recognized with a top weekly honor by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for her performance in three Laser victories last week.

Sophomore Allie Jo Amos (Prescott, Ariz./Prescott) was named GNAC Libero of the Week, earning the honors for the second straight week.

A sophomore libero, Amos averaged 4.78 digs per set in a 3-0 week for Lasell, including 5.17 digs per set in a pair of GNAC wins. She posted 16 digs in a 3-0 GNAC win over Anna Maria, and 15 digs in a 3-0 conference win over Saint Joseph's (Maine). She also made 12 digs in a non-conference win over Massachusetts Maritime.

Amos ranks fifth in the GNAC with 261 digs and eighth with 4.02 digs per set.

The Lasers have bounced back from an 0-10 start to the season to win nine of their last 11 matches and improve to 9-12 overall and 6-2 in GNAC matches. Lasell travels to Norwich University on Wednesday for a 7:00 p.m. conference match before hosting Emmanuel College and Smith College in a tri-match Saturday for Senior Day as part of the Lasell College Family & Friends Weekend festivities.
