NEWTON, Mass. – Two standouts on the Lasell College women's volleyball team have been recognized with top weekly honors by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for their performances in Laser victories last week.

Freshman Kiana Perez (Juncos, Puerto Rico/Notre Dame) repeated as GNAC Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week, and sophomore Allie Jo Amos (Prescott, Ariz./Prescott) was named GNAC Libero of the Week. Perez earns the top rookie honor for the third straight week while Amos is a first-time recipient.

A freshman outside hitter, Perez averaged 4.10 kills, 3.00 digs and 0.40 service aces per set with a .130 attack percentage as Lasell won a pair of five-set GNAC matches last week. She posted 24 kills and 12 digs Wednesday in Lasell's 3-2 win at Regis College, and tallied 17 kills, 18 digs and three service aces Saturday in Lasell's 3-2 victory at the University of Saint Joseph (Connecticut).

A sophomore libero, Amos averaged 5.30 digs and 0.50 service aces per set as Lasell won a pair of GNAC matches in five sets. She posted 27 digs Wednesday in Lasell's 3-2 win at Regis before tallying 26 digs and four service aces Saturday in the Lasers' 3-2 triumph at USJ.

Amos leads the team and ranks ninth in the GNAC in digs per set (3.89).

The Lasers have rebounded from an 0-10 start to the season to win six of their last eight matches and improve to 6-12 overall and 4-2 in GNAC matches. After a non-conference match Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Massachuetts Maritime Academy, Lasell plays a pair of GNAC matches Saturday at Anna Maria College (10 a.m.) with Saint Joseph's College of Maine (noon).
