Lasell Women’s Volleyball drops two at Western Conn. Tournament

DANBURY, Conn. – The Lasell College women's volleyball is still looking for its first win of the season after a pair of setbacks Saturday at the Western Connecticut State University Invitational; the Lasers fell in a pair of three-set matches at Feldman Arena to Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham and Salve Regina University.

FDU-Florham took the first match from the Lasers by scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-19, and Salve Regina won the second match, 25-17, 25-17 and 25-14. The Lasers return home after starting the season 0-4.

Senior Olivia Addington (Orange, Calif.) had a strong match for Lasell in the loss to FDU-Florham. She posted a weekend-high 17 kills with an impressive .375 attack percentage while also recording 12 digs for her second double-double of the season. Sophomore Allie Jo Amos (Prescott, Ariz.) registered a team-leading 13 digs, and other solid contributors included Meghan Roberts (somewhere) with five kills and three blocks and freshman setter Jess Langan (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) with 27 assists.

Addington led the way against Salve with nine kills, while freshman Kiana Perez (Juncos, P.R.) added six winners and a team-high 11 digs and Roberts chipped in with five kills. Langan recorded 22 assists and sophomore Katie Schneider (Covino, Calif.) posted seven digs and a team-high four service aces.

The Lasers will be back on the court looking for their first victory Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Gordon College in Wenham, Mass.
