BOSTON – The Lasell women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) win against Suffolk University on Wednesday night inside Regan Gymnasium. The straight set league victory came by set scores, 27-25, 25-23 and 25-18.

The Lasers improve to 1-2 in the GNAC and 6-14 overall, while Suffolk falls to 8-7 and 3-3 against league opponents.

Suffolk led for the majority of the first frame, but a late push by Lasell put the visitors ahead by a set. Both teams battled back and forth in the second set, but the Lasers hung on for a 25-23 set win to gain a 2-0 edge in the match. It was all Lasell in the final frame as the visitors locked up the sweep with a 25-18 third set victory.

Olivia Addington (Orange, Calif.) set another Lasell record for the third time this season with her 20 kills over the three sets. The junior outside hitter set the record just five days ago, swinging into 18 vs. Skidmore, and hit .320% in tonight's victory. Mickayla Shelburn (Waterford, Conn.) was closest to Addington's total with seven kills and an ace for eight points.

The Lasers had a strong defensive front led by Caitlyn Garcia (Moreno Valley, Calif.) and Allie Jo Amos, who both recorded 14 digs apiece. Taylor Tiezzi (Meriden, Conn.) was on-pace with her season assists per set, and dished out 24 overall.

Kayla Barbera's nine kill attack on a .429 connection rate paced Suffolk's offense with the freshman adding three digs to the defensive side of play. Classmate Hannah Fabiano notched eight kills to go along with six digs and one block.

Defensively, Talia Lombardo racked up six blocks, while Lombardo notched a team-high 12 digs for the Rams.

The Lasers return to GNAC action on Saturday with a tri-match on the road featuring the nationally ranked Wildcats of Johnson & Wales and Albertus Magnus College. Suffolk's homestand continues this weekend as the Rams welcome Mount Ida and Framingham State, also on Saturday, which gets underway at 10:00 a.m.
