Panthers Rally to Defeat Women's Volleyball in Straight Sets

PLYMOUTH, N.H. (9/19/17) – The Lasell women's volleyball team took the first set from Plymouth State, 25-17, but fell to a Panthers comeback 3-1 in non-conference action Tuesday night.

The Panthers used set scores of 25-21, 25-15, and 25-21 to improve to 9-4 on the year, while the Lasers dip to 3-8.

The first set was all Lasell, as the visitors swung to the tune of .289 percent hitting. The Panthers staged a comeback in the second, third, and final set of the evening, highlighted by .211 hitting in the second set.

Olivia Addington (Orange, Calif.) paced Lasell's offense with 12 kills and 16 digs for her second straight double-double. Mickayla Shelburn (Waterford, Conn.)  Followed Addington's lead with 10 kills.

Freshman Allie Jo Amos (Prescott, Ariz.) accounted for all of the Lasers' service aces, as the rookie swung into six overall.

Defensively, Caitlyn Garcia (Moreno Valley, Calif.), her season-high in four sets. Classmate Taylor Tiezzi (Meriden, Conn.) dished out 28 assists, while also registering 15 digs.

Lasell returns to Newton for their next contest, a non-conference tilt scheduled for Thursday evening against Worcester State. First serve between the Lasers and the Lancers is set for 7:00 p.m.
