Tiezzi Hits 2,000 Career Assists; Women's Volleyball Goes 1-3 in San Juan

SAN JUAN, P.R. (9/3/17) – The Lasell women's volleyball team is heading back to Boston after a 1-3 showing at the Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan, P.R. Lasell earned a tremendous five-set victory against Wesley College by set scores of 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 22-25 and 15-12, and fell to Dickinson, Ramapo, and Bridgewater (Va.) in straight sets.

Senior setter Taylor Tiezzi (Meriden, Conn.) reached the 2,000 career assists milestone during the Lasers' first day of competition. Tiezzi dished out 22 assists in the setback against Ramapo to hit the historic plateau, and finished the weekend with 101 assists overall.

Olivia Addington owned the kills column for Lasell, and returns to Newton with 42 kills over the four games played. Addington was Lasell's point leader in each game in San Juan, followed by Michele Canestro (Castleton, N.Y.) who smashed 25 kills overall.

Defensively, Caitlyn Garcia (Moreno Valley, Calif.) hit the court for 83 digs, highlighted by 25 in the Lasers' victory against Wesley.

Lasell returns to action on Wednesday, September 6 for a non-conference affair against Colby-Sawyer. The match is set for 7:00 p.m. in New London, N.H.
