NORTHFIELD, Vt. (10/22/16)  - The Lasell women's volleyball team earned a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) sweep over Norwich and Suffolk on Saturday afternoon in Northfield, Vt. The pair of wins boosts Lasell's overall record to 10-16 and 5-4 in GNAC play.

The Lasers stole a straight-set match victory against the hosting Cadets by scores of 25-15, 25-16, and 25-19. Olivia Addington (Orange, Calif.) led all players with 15 kills, two service aces, and two block assists for 18 points overall. Junior Michele Canestro (Castleton, N.Y.) also contributed with double-digits points on 10 kills in the victory.

Defensively, Caitlyn Garcia (Moreno Valley, Calif.) limited the Cadets' offense with 18 digs while also assisting on five of Lasell's 39 kills. Taylor Tiezzi (Meriden, Conn.) accounted for the majority of Lasell's helpers, adding a match-high 31.

Addington continued her offensive dominance in the second match of the evening, leading Lasell to a 3-1 victory over Suffolk with set scores of 19-25, 25-13, 25-17, and 25-15. Addington added 14 kills and another pair of services aces. Canestro swung into nine digs in the frame, joined by Meredith Eagan (North Andover, Mass.) who followed with eight kills of her own.

Garcia surpassed her previous defensive performance, and hit the floor for 21 digs, while Tiezzi assumed the predominant setter position with another 31 assists.

The Lasers will return to the Athletic Center on Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. Lasell will host Bridgewater State in a non-conference tilt in honor of the lone graduating senior, Cassandra Stout.
