Women's Volleyball Drops Two in Non-Conference Tri-Match

KEENE, N.H.—The Lasell women's volleyball team dropped two non-conference contests to Keene State and UMass Dartmouth at Spaulding Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. The Lasers, now 3-5, fell to the Corsairs in straight sets before dropping a 3-1 decision to the Owls.

In their second encounter of the season, the Corsairs took down the Lasers by set scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 25-17. Sophomore Olivia Addington (Orange, Calif.) led the Laser offensive with nine points on the afternoon highlighted by eight kills and a service ace. Defensively, Addington also contributed 15 digs, while junior libero Caitlyn Garcia (Moreno Valley, Calif.) joined Michele Canestro (Castleton, N.Y.) and Taylor Tiezzi (Meriden, Conn.) with 11 digs.

Despite a 25-20 third set victory, the Owls bested the Lasers in the latter event of the afternoon by scores of 25-21, 25-18, and 25-14. Addington nearly reached double figures with 11 kills and eight digs while the GNAC's libero of the week Garcia registered 26 digs. Splitting 12 points apiece was Canestro and freshman Amanda DiLeonardo (West Haven, Conn.) who swung into 11 and 12 kills, respectively.

Tiezzi combined for 58 assists on the afternoon.

The Lasers will return to Newton, Mass. on Tuesday when they host Plymouth State University at 7:00 p.m. for a non-conference tilt.
