Women's Volleyball Drops Pair at Eastern Connecticut

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (9/20/14) – The Lasell College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon at Eastern Connecticut State University. The Lasers fell 3-0 in straight sets to the host Warriors and also were swept 3-0 by the University of Southern Maine as the Lasers slipped to 2-13 on the season.

Southern Maine 3 – Lasell 0

The University of Southern Maine knocked off Lasell 3-0 in the Lasers first match of the day on Saturday by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 26-24. Odina Ellis had a team-high eight kills for Lasell, followed by Kathy Cameron, Heather Longley and Michele Canestro with seven, six and five respectively. Caitlyn Garcia had a team-high 17 digs and Taylor Tiezzi finished with 24 assists and 11 digs. Longley also notched 3 total blocks in the match.

Eastern Connecticut 3 – Lasell 0

The Lasers fell 3-0 to the host Warriors, dropping sets by scores of 25-13, 25-14 and 25-19. Odina Ellis tallied eight kills to lead the way for Lasell, Caitlyn Garcia and Haley Dennis each recorded 11 and nine digs respectively.

Lasell will host Plymouth State on Tuesday September September 23rd at 7:00 p.m.
