Women's Volleyball Claims Pair of GNAC Victories

NORTHFIELD, Vt. (10/5/13) – The Lasell College women's volleyball team earned a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference victories in a tri-match at Norwich University. The Lasers opened the day with a 3-0 victory over Norwich University before picking up a hard-fought 3-2 win against the University of St. Joseph's (Conn.) in their match of the day. Lasell improved their record to 9-9 overall and 2-2 in GNAC matches.

Lasell 3 – Norwich 0

The Lasers collected a 3-0 victory in the opening match of the day, defeating Norwich University by scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-20. Lasell was led by Abigail Rollins (N. Caldwell, N.J.) with 10 kills and 14 digs, getting seven kills from Sharisse Scott-Rawlins (Brockton Mass.), 19 digs from Jordan Seid (Rowland Hts., Calif) and 23 assists from Alyssa Nahigian (Coventry, R.I.).

Lasell 3 – Univ. of St. Joseph's 2

Lasell recovered from squandering a 2-0 lead through the first sets to pick up their second GNAC victory with a five-set win against the University of St. Joseph. The Lasers won 25-18 and 25-10 before falling 25-22 and 25-18 in the third and fourth sets and pulling out the fifth set 15-8.

Sharisse Scott-Rawlins paced the Lasell offense with 11 kills, and Talia LeBlanc (Laconia N.H.) added eight kills in the victory. Scott-Rawlins added 15 digs and Jordan Seid posted a match-high 27 digs, while Alyssa Nahigian finished with 25 assists.

Lasell will host Worcester State on Tuesday October 8th at 7:00 p.m. in their next contest.
