WTrack: 4x400 Relay Team and Samuels Shine at GNAC Championships, Team Finishes 4th Overall

Boston, MA - The Lasell Women's Track & Field team competed in the GNAC Indoor Championships on Sunday, finishing in 4th place with 74 points.

Starring for the Lasers in the field was Sinclair Samuels. She finished first in the Shotput with a mark of 10.25m. But her best throw came in the Weight Throw, where she posted a mark of 12.83m, which shattered the previous school record of 10.69m, which Samuels set two weeks ago. Her throw was good for 2nd.

The Lasers' 4x400m relay team finished first, more than 15 seconds ahead of the second place team. The team included Emily VanHouten, Adrianna Tassone, and Hanna Babek. Their time of 4:22.67 was a PR, and less than a second from the school record.

Outside of the relay, Babek and VanHouten found success on their own. VanHouten finished 2nd in the 400m with a time of 1:04.15, while Babek finished third with a time of 1:04.99. This was a new PR for Babek, who also placed 5th in the 200m with a time of 28.81s Elsewhere on the track, Sydney Katz finished 4th in the 60m Dash with a time of 8.45s, and 5th in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 10.41s.

Taylor Sprague also competed in the throwing events, placing 4th in the Shotput with a mark of 9.28m.

Up next - The Lasers will compete in the USATF New England Indoor Track and Field Championships @ Gordon Track (Harvard University) on Sunday, February 19th.
