WTrack: Samuels Retakes School Record in Weight Throw as Lasers Compete in Boston

Boston, MA - The Lasell Women's Track & Field team competed at two events this weekend, the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic and the UMass Lowell Riverhawk Invitational. The two events saw the Lasers set seven personal bests, including a school record.

Over the past few events, Sinclair Samuels and Taylor Sprague have gone back and forth one upping each other in the Weight Throw event, and the Lasell Record book. A week after Sprague set the school record of 10.20m, both her and Samuels out did that mark. Sprague would put up a new school record of 10.51m, but it was quickly bettered by Samuels' throw of 10.69m. Both marks were also PRs. Samuels and Spargue also participated in the Shotput, and put up marks of 10.57m and 9.00m respectively.

A big event for the Lasers was the 200m Dash. Delvarie Moore ran a personal best with a time of 29.69s, while Hanna Babek and Sarah Milne ran season bests at 28.36s and 30.82s each. Not only did Babek set the season best, she also shattered her previous best in the 400m, running a time of 65.54s, three second faster than her previous best. Milne would also set a PR in the Long Jump with a mark of 4.09m. Along with her PR in the 200m, Moore also put up a solid time in the 60m, running a 9.05s

Up Next - The Lasers will return to Boston University next week, as they compete in the BU Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational.
