CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lasell College women's track & field team was back on the track Saturday afternoon, competing at the Sean Collier Invitational, hosted by MIT. The event featured more than a dozen schools from NCAA Divisions I and III.

Freshman Alahna Mild (Bar Harbor, Maine) posted a pair of best times in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. She ran the 100 in 13.93 seconds to place 18th out of 31 racers and finished the 200 in 29.52 seconds to place 28th out of 39. Junior Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.) also registered her fastest time of the year in the 100 with a 14.26 (22nd place).

Freshman Nikki Ruggiero (Peabody, Mass.) had another strong performance in the 800-meter run with a season-best time of 2:45.27, placing 20th out of 26 runners. Freshman Emily Hong (Southborough, Mass.) finished 12th out of 18 entries in the 400 meters in a time of 1:08.14.

Lasell had two runners in the 5,000 meters, with sophomore Amanda Hawkes (Billerica, Mass.) finishing in 24:36.83 and freshman Grace West (Kennebunk, Maine) crossing the finish line in 24:42.41.

Freshman Elise Stanbury (Warren Hills, N.J.) competed for the Lasers in two field events. She placed 12th out of 26 throwers in the shot put with a season-best mark of 9.33 meters (30'7.5"), and 18th out of 25 in the discus with a mark of 21.04 meters (69'0").

Sophomore Allie Jo Amos (Prescott, Ariz.) posted a season-best mark of 26.81 meters (87'11") to place 10th out of 21 throwers in the javelin, and freshman Sophia Franzik (Wallingford, Conn.) was right behind in 16th place with a mark of 21.18 meters (69'6").

The Lasers will compete in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships next weekend, April 27-28, at Regis College.
