Lasell Women’s Track & Field competes at UMass Dartmouth Classic

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Lasell College women's track & field team continued the outdoor season Saturday afternoon, with the freshmen class leading the way at the University of Massachusetts Corsair Classic.

Freshman Alahna Mild (Bar Harbor, Maine) duplicated her performance from last week as Lasell's top finisher in the 100 meter dash. She placed 35th in a field of 73 sprinters with a time of 14.33 seconds, and she also took 38th in the 200 meters in 31.36 seconds. Junior Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.) and freshman Olivia Diogo (Peabody, Mass.) also competed in the 100 for Lasell, finishing 36th in 14.36 seconds and 62nd in 16.14 seconds, respectively.

Freshman Emily Hong (Southborough, Mass.) was the top Laser in the 200, placing 34th among 65 entries with a time of 30.97 seconds. Senior Jordan Immerman (Tarzana, Calif.) placed 47th in the 200, crossing the line in 33.14 seconds.

Freshman Nikki Ruggiero (Peabody, Mass.) led the Lasers in the 800 meters, placing 18th among 39 runners with a time of 2:46.51, dropping nearly nine seconds off her time from last week. Sophomore Amanda Miller (New Bedford, Mass.) finished 26th in the event with a time of 2:54.34.

Freshman Grace West (Kennebunk, Maine) was the fastest Laser in the 5000 meter run, finishing 18th in a time of 23:15.59, and sophomore Amanda Hawkes (Billerica, Mass.) was 20th in 23:56.52.

Freshman Elise Stanbury (Warren Hills, N.J.) competed in two field events for the Lasers, placing 21st out of 46 throwers in the discus with a mark of 25.48 meters (83'7"), and finishing 22nd out of 44 in the shot put with a mark of 8.94 meters (29'4"). Sophomore Allie Jo Amos (Prescott, Ariz.) and freshman Sophia Franzik (Wallingford, Conn.) both improved their marks from last week in the javelin, as Amos placed 20th out of 34 with a mark of 25.11 meters (82'4") and Franzik was 24th with a mark of 22.75 meters (74'8").

Immerman was Lasell's representative in the long jump, leaping 3.91 meters (12'10").

The Lasers will be back on the track next Friday, April 5, at the Regis College Spring Classic, beginning at 2:30 p.m.
