Seven Lasell Women’s Track & Field athletes race at All-Comers Meet

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Lasell College women's track & field team finished up the indoor season Sunday afternoon with competition at the All-Comers Meet, hosted at Smith College by the Sugarloaf Mountain Athletic Club.

Freshman Ella Contreras (Pawtucket, R.I.) turned in solid performances in two events for Lasell. She ran the 55-meter dash in a team-best time of 8.19 seconds, and made a long jump of 4.09 meters (13'5"), the longest mark for a Lasell jumper the past two years. Freshman Alahna Mild (Bar Harbor, Maine) was close behind in the 55 meters, running an 8.23.

Elsewhere on the track, freshman Emily Hong (Southborough, Mass.) ran a season-best time of 1:07.65 in the 400 meters. Sophomore Amanda Hawkes (Billerica, Mass.) posted a time of 12:53.20 in her first race at 3,000 meters, and freshmen Grace West (Kennebunk, Maine) and Emma Vierling (Waltham, Mass.) ran times of 6:39.01 and 7:20.69 in the mile run.

The team also put a new addition into the school record book as Mild, senior Jordan Immerman (Tarzana, Calif,), West and Hawkes (left) competed in a sprint medley relay race, finishing with a time of 5:25.88, with Mild and Immerman doing 200 meters, West running 400 meters, and Hawkes finishing with 800 meters.

After a four-week break, the Lasers will open the outdoor season at the Wesleyan University Spring Classic on Saturday, March 23, in Middletown, Conn.
