Lasell Women’s Track & Field competes at USATF New England Indoors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lasell College women's track & field team sent a contingent of athletes to the USA Track and Field New England Indoor Championships Sunday at Harvard University, with four sprinters posting personal best times.

Freshman Alahna Mild (Bar Harbor, Maine) led the Lasers, running personal-bests in the 60 meters (8.81 seconds) and 200 meters (30.89 seconds). Classmate Ella Contreras (Pawtucket, R.I.) ran her best time in the 60 meters (8.84 seconds), as did junior Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.) with a time of 8.87 and senior Jordan Immerman (Tarzana, Calif.) with a time of 9.53.

Freshman Emily Hong (Southborough, Mass.) had Lasell's top time in the 200 meters, finishing in 29.83 seconds, while Clancy crossed the finish line in 30.32 seconds.  Sophomore Amanda Hawkes (Billerica, Mass.) competed for the Lasers in the mile run, finishing in a season-best time of 6:23.59.

Immerman also competed in the long jump, posting a mark of 3.48 meters (11'5"). Freshman Elise Stanbury (Warren Hills, N.J.) made her collegiate debut in the shot put, recording a mark of 8.45 meters (27'8.75").

The Lasers will wrap up the indoor season next Sunday, February 24, at the SMAC All-Comers Meet at Smith College in Northampton, Mass.
