Lasell Women’s Track & Field competes at BU Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – The Lasell College women's track & field team was represented by six student-athletes Friday at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational at BU's Track & Tennis Center. The event included over 1,000 athletes representing numerous colleges, universities and clubs in all divisions.

The Lasers had three entries in the 60-meter dash. Junior Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.) posted the fastest time for Lasell, finishing in a season-best 8.94 seconds. Freshman Alahna Mild (Bar Harbor, Maine) finished in 9.02 seconds, and classmate Ella Contreras (Pawtucket, R.I.) crossed the line in 9.08 seconds.

Freshman Emily Hong (Southborough, Mass.) was Lasell's only entry in the 200 meters, posting a season-best time of 29.20 seconds. Classmate Nikki Ruggiero (Peabody, Mass.) made her collegiate debut in the 800 meters with a time of 2:44.67.

Senior Jordan Immerman (Tarzana, Calif.) competed in the long jump but did not post a mark.

The Lasers will compete again on Sunday, February 17, at the at USATF New England Open Indoor Championships at Harvard University.
