Lasell Women’s Track & Field competes at BU Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. – The Lasell College women's track & field team was represented by nine student-athletes Friday at the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University. The event included approximately 1,500 athletes representing 150 colleges, universities and clubs.

Freshmen Alahna Mild (Bar Harbor, Maine) ran two races for Lasell, placing 34th in the 60-meter dash in 9.00 seconds flat and 157th in the 200 meters in a season-best time of 31.51 seconds. Junior Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.) was right behind Mild in the 60, finishing 35th in a season-best 9.07 seconds.

Other competitors for Lasell included freshman Emma Murray (Wethersfield, Conn.), 58th in the 1000 meters in 3:34.85; freshman Emily Hong (Southborough, Mass.),113th in the 400 meters in 1:09.26; and sophomore Amanda Miller (New Bedford, Mass.), 118th in the 800 meters in 2:59.78.

Lasell also had an entry in the 4x800 meter relay, with the squad of sophomore Amanda Hawkes (Billerica, Mass.) and freshmen Grace West (Kennebunk, Maine), Emma Vierling (Waltham, Mass.) and Nikki Ruggerio (Peabody, Mass.) placing sixth in a time of 12:01.47.

The Lasers will return to the BU Track & Tennis Center in two weeks to compete at the David Hemery Valentine's Invitational on Friday, February 8, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
