Lasell Track & Field competes at Tufts Snowflake Classic

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Lasell College men's and women's track & field teams competed in the first outdoor event of the season Saturday afternoon, sending a group of nine men and five women to the Tufts University Snowflake Classic held at the Clarence "Ding" Dussault Track.

Junior Ben Lane (Rutland, Vt.) led the Lasers with a pair of strong finishes in the men's sprint events. He finished 15th out of 68 sprinters in the 100 meter dash in 11.75 seconds, and he placed 31st out of 96 runners in the 200 meters, finishing in 23.61 seconds. Freshman Ben Biello (N. Dighton, Mass.) also competed in those two races for Lasell, running a 12.46 in the 100 and a 25.25 in the 200.

Junior Ryan Dalaba (N. Granville, Mass.) was PSU's top distance runner, placing 20th out of 55 in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:56.05.

Freshman Allie Amos (Prescott, Ariz.) led the Laser women, running a solid 1:09.31 in the 400 meters, dropping her time from last week's meet at Wesleyan. Freshman Maggie McGovern (Worcester, Mass.) ran the 400 intermediate hurdles in 1:09.31, and freshman Isabella Raffone (Westbrook, Conn.) ran the 100 meters in 14.57 seconds.

Lasell will go to two different meets next weekend, competing in the Regis Spring Classic on Friday, Apr. 6, and the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic on Saturday, Apr. 7.
