Lasers Open 2017 at the Tigers All Comers Invitational

BOSTON Mass.- The Lasell College men's and women's track and field teams opened the New Year at the Tigers All Comers Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center on Saturday. 

Sophomore Jordan Immerman (Tarzana, Calif.) jumped her way to 8th place with a mark of 3.86 meters in the long jump pit.  Junior Josh Nixon (Bloomfield, Conn.) hit a mark of 5.56 meters in the event, which was good for 7th overall. 

Junior Ben Lane (Rutland, Vt.) tied his personal best in the 60m at 7.49, placing 16th overall.  Nixon came back from the jumps to run a 7.65, and freshman Brendan Johnson (Plymouth, Mass.) rounded out the trio with an 8.04 finish.  In the 400-meter dash, freshman Katy Czarniak (East Bridgewater, Mass.) ran a season best time of 1:09.27, and junior Kyle Vonick (Weathersfield, Conn.) had a strong performance posting a time of 53.79. 

Sophomore Stephanie Seedorf (Massapequa, N.Y.) led freshman Karli Manship (Pittsfield, Mass.) in the 800 meters, where they placed 12th and 14th respectively with times of 2:52.26 and 2:59.97. On the men's side, freshman Matt Holden (Methuen, Mass.) ran a personal best time of 2:17.09. 

The final event for the Lasers was the 200-meter dash, where freshmen Megan Stella (Warren, Mass.) and Allie Clancy (Beverly, Mass.) ran a 30.27 and 31.97.  Lane returned to the track after his 60-meter dash to run an indoor personal best and a season best time of 23.85, placing him 8th overall.  Freshman Massimo Cugno (Medford, Mass.) followed with a time of 25.25.

The Lasers will be back in action next weekend at the Wesleyan Indoor Invitational.
