Record-Breaking Performances Steer Women's Track and Field

NEWTON, Mass. (12/15/14) – The women's indoor track and field 4x400 meter relay team has set yet another school record, finishing at 4:35.39 at the Jay Carisella Invitational. Led by junior Melissa Cooley (Huntington Beach, Calif.), freshman Lauren Lenahan (Weymouth, Mass.), sophomore Amy MacDonald (Burlington, Mass.) and sophomore Ayumi Ranucci (Auburn, Maine), the squad trimmed off 12 seconds from last weekend's record-breaking performance.

MacDonald had a standout performance on the day, additionally setting the 1,000M record at 3:24.66. Junior Jamie Russo (Watertown, Mass.) crossed the line next for Lasell, finishing at 3:26.22.

The 200M dash saw vast improvements as well, with Cooley and Ranucci advancing to 28.69 and 29.79, respectively.

The squad will return to the track after the Holiday break at Tufts University on January 17th, 2015.
