Willimantic, Conn. (4/14/13) – The Lasell College women's track and field team saw some strong performances in the throwing events in their meet at Eastern Connecticut State University.

Chelsea Zeig took first place in the shot out with a throw of 9.99 meters, while Kathy Cameron and Heather Longley were fifth and eighth respectively with distances of 8.61 and 8.34 meters. Longley finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 30.20 meters, edging out teammates Cameron and Zeig who finished fifth and sixth, posting distances of 28.70 meters and 28.11 meters.

Talia Gabriel placed sixth in the 100M dash finals, finishing with a time of 14.06 seconds. Melissa Cooley finished tenth in the 200M dash, covering the distance in 28.64 seconds, then notched her highest finish of the season in the 400M dash when she placed third overall in a time of 1:04.71.

Jamie Russo took seventh in the 800M run, completing the two-lap race in 2:41.37.
