Newton, M.A. – The Lasell Lasers earned a GNAC conference victory on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Elms Blazers 3-0. The Laser win makes them 4-1-1 in the GNAC and 5-3-1 overall. The loss drops Elms to 3-3 in the conference and 4-4 overall.

The scoring started early for the Lasers as Freshman Kendall Sniper netted her first career goal 24 minutes into the game. Twelve minutes later Michelina D'Agostino, who assisted Sniper, would score a goal of her own to give the Lasers a 2-0 before the half.

The Lasers would tack on one more early in the second half coming from Emily DeHart for her second goal of the season. Evelyn DiFiore and Camdyn LaMarre each had an assist for Lasell also.

The Laser defense was strong all day, allowing just two shots on net, both saved by goalie Lataya Simmons who tied a Lasell program record for consecutive shutouts with her fifth straight blank sheet. This matches Elizabeth Stickley, who recorded five straight shutouts in 2010. Stickley's stretch included three GNAC playoff games, capped off by the 2010 GNAC Championship game that the Lasers won.
