NEWTON, Mass. – A Lasell University women's soccer player earned GNAC honors this week for the Lasers as they went 2-0, defeating Saint Joseph's (Maine) and Suffolk University in the GNAC tournament quarterfinals. 

Sophomore Serena Speight (Biddeford, Maine) was selected as the Player of the Week in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Speight tallied two goals in a pair of GNAC victories. Both of her goals came in the GNAC quarterfinal victory Saturday at Suffolk University, as her first goal put the Lasers up 2-1 early in the second half and her second goal was the overtime game-winner.

The Lasers are on to the semi-final match in the GNAC tournament against the number one seed Johnson & Wales University on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
