Lasell Women’s Soccer player named GNAC Player of the Week

NEWTON, Mass. – Senior Erika Badger (Scituate, Mass.) has been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

As the Lasers earned their seventh straight victory, Badger collected two goals and one assist, with one game-winning goal, in a 2-0 week for Lasell with a pair of GNAC wins.

A senior midfielder, Badger scored the Laser's third goal in Wednesday's 3-2 conference victory over Saint Joseph's College (Maine), putting the Lasell up 3-0 in the first half. Badger then assisted on Lasell's second goal before finding the back of the net for the Laser's third in Saturday's road game at Simmons University, all in the first half, in a 3-0 victory.

Through 10 games, Badger is in the midst of a career season with 13 points. She has tied her career-high of six goals, her most since her sophomore campaign. The two-time GNAC All-Conference honoree earns her first career GNAC weekly accolade.

The Lasers begin a three-game home stand on Tuesday (4:00 p.m.) hosting non-conference foe Western Connecticut before welcoming GNAC foe Regis on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. for Senior Day, as part of the Lasell College Family & Friends Weekend festivities.
