NEWTON, Mass. (10/16/17) – For the first time since 2015, the Lasell women's soccer team earned a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week selection in Sophia DiPlacido (Hudson, Mass.), as announced by the league office on Monday.

The accolade comes as a career first for the freshman, after a three goal performance in a 2-0 week for the Lasers. DiPlacido kicked off the week with a single tally in Lasell's 5-0 shutout win at Mount Ida, before scoring two goals – including the game winner – in a crucial victory over Saint Joseph (Conn.).

DiPlacido and the Lasers step out of conference action this evening for their next contest, a 7:00 p.m. match at Roger Williams University.
