Kingman, Cullen Repeat as NSCAA All-Region Honorees

NEWTON, Mass. (11/30/16) -- Seniors Mack Kingman (East Bridgewater, Mass.) and Megan Cullen (Amesbury, Mass.) of the Lasell College women's soccer team both earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division III All-New England Region honors, as announced on Tuesday.

Kingman was one of five backs named to the All-Region First Team, while Cullen was a Second Team honoree at forward. Both players are repeat honorees as Cullen was named to the First Team last season, and Kingman the Second Team.

The Laser duo join just three other Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) players ― Nadine Simpson of Johnson & Wales, Haley DaGraca of St. Joseph's College of Maine, and Angelina Piccirillo of Albertus Magnus ― as All-Region selections.

Named GNAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year along with Simpson earlier this month, Kingman started in all of Lasell's 22 contests and played in 85 games over her four-year career, third-most in Lasell history. Kingman put six of her 12 total shots on goal while anchoring a Laser defense that pitched ten shutouts as a team and allowed just 18 goals all season.

Cullen joined Kingman on the All-GNAC First Team and now repeats as an NSCAA honoree after pacing the Lasell offense and the conference with 47 points, including 21 goals. She posted multiple goals in a game six times this season, including four-goal efforts in wins over Rivier and St. Joe's. A goal with 1:55 remaining in the GNAC title game against Albertus Magnus was the last of Cullen's seven game-winning strikes this season, and a pivotal moment in her career.

Kingman and Cullen did not lose a GNAC match over their entire four-year career, as Lasell finished this fall campaign with a 10-0-1 record in conference play and earned a seventh straight championship. The Lasers collected an 18-3-1 overall record.
