Bridget Lynch Named Academic All-American for the First Time in Lasell History

NEWTON, Mass. (11/21/14) – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has named senior Bridget Lynch (Dover, N.H.) on the Capital One Academic All-America Team for her outstanding 2014 academic and athletic performance. This marks the first time in Lasell College history that a Laser has been awarded this honor, as Lynch serves as the lone New England representative on the First Team. After her recognition by coSIDA with Academic All-District honors in October, Lynch continued to improve on the field and in the classroom. In her pursuit of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science, Lynch carries an impressive 3.91 GPA.

Lynch holds the school record for goals, assists, and total points in both season and career. In this year's post-season tournament, Lynch added six goals and dished out five assists to steer the Lasers to their fifth consecutive GNAC Championship. Over the past three years, she has been in the top five for goals and points in both the GNAC and the NCAA. Lynch is currently ranked 5th in the nation for points in the 2014 season.

The Dover, N.H. native appeared in 86 total contests for the Lasers, and registered 98 goals, 27 assists, and 223 points. Of her 98 career goals, 21 of them were game-winners. She continued to improve her athletic performance each year, starting her freshmen season with 20 points, and ending her senior year with 76.
