Bridget Lynch Tally Helps Lasell to 1-0 Win Over Albertus Magnus in Women's Soccer

NEWTON, Mass. (10/4/14) – The Lasell College women's soccer team remained unbeaten in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play with a 1-0 win against visiting Albertus Magnus College. Lasell improved to 7-4 overall and 5-0 in the league while the Falcons dropped to 5-6-1 on the year and 2-2-1 in conference matches.

Bridget Lynch broke a scoreless match in the 50th minute when she found a looseball in the box following a failed Albertus Magnus clearance off a Lasell corner and fired the ball into the right side netting for the only goal of the match. Sarah LaClair made four saves in the match for Lasell to claim the victory and post her third shutout of the season.

Maria Case (West Haven, Conn.) stopped five shots for the Falcons, taking the loss depite some strong play in goal for her side. Danielle Polyan (East Haven, Conn.) made several dangerous runs forward out of the midfield for Albertus Magnus, but both of her efforts on frame were dealt with by LaClair.

Lasell will go on the road on Wednesday October 8th for a 4:00 p.m. match against the University of St. Joseph's while the Flacons will return home to host Simmons College on Wednesday October 8th at 4:00 p.m.
