Brandeis Tips Lasell, 2-1 in Women's Soccer

WALTHAM, Mass. (9/6/14) - The Lasell College women's soccer team dropped their second consecutive result, falling on a late goal to Brandeis, 2-1. The Lasers slipped to 2-2 on the season while the Judges improved to 2-1 overall.

Bridget Lynch scored her fourth goal of the season in the 78th minute for Lasell, evening the match at 1-1, but Lasell conceeded in the 83rd minute and Brandeis was able to hold on for the win.

Samantha Schwartz netted a goal and an assist for Brandeis, Sapir Edalati scored once and Holly Szafran tacked on an assist for the hosts.

Edalati got the scoring started in the 66th minute, scoring on a pass from Schwartz to put Brandeis in front 1-0. Lynch then drew Lasell level with her unassisted tally in the 78th minute that appeared to send the match to extra time. Brandeis bounced back however, scoring in the 83rd minute to take the 2-1 lead and eventually the victory.

Leah Pappalardo made seven saves in goal for the Lasers, while the Brandeis net minder notched one save after taking over at the intermission to earn the victory.

Lasell heads to Anna Maria College on Saturday September 13th where the will play the AMCats with kick-off slated for 11:00 a.m.
