Kayla and Bridget Lynch Doubles Help Women's Soccer to 5-1 Victory over Rivier

NASHUA, N.H. - The Lasell College women's soccer team earned a 5-1 Great Northeast Athletic COnference victory at Rivier University on Thursday night. Lasell remained undefeated in conference play at 9-0-1 while pushing their overall record to 12-3-1 after the victory. Rivier dropped to 5-10-1 on the year and 3-6-1 in GNAC action.

Kayla Lynch (Dover, N.H.) and Bridget Lynch (Dover, N.H.) each scored a pair of goals for the Lasers who got a goal from Molly Masiero (Richmond, Mass.)and a pair of assists from Arianna DiOrio in the victory.

Lauren Tamposi (Hollis, N.H.) scored the lone goal for the Raiders, and Holly Slocum (Holden, Mass.) was credited with an assist in the loss.

Lasell got on the board in the 7th minute when Kayla headed home a cross from DiOrio who setup her teammate after a perfect feed from Bridget Munnelly (Bellingham, Mass.). Tamposi and Slocum hooked up in the 20th minute to help Rivier draw level at 1-1, but Masiero beat the Raiders keeper Cassandra Brown (Somersworth, N.H.) high in the 28th minute to put Lasell in front 2-1.

Bridget Lynch scored her 24th goal of the season on a pass from DiOrio in the 32nd minute to give the Lasers a 3-1 lead at the break. Bridget added her 25th goal of the season in the 67th minute and Kayla Lynch tallied her sixth goal of the campaign in the 75th minute to close out the scoring at 5-1.

Leah Pappalardo (Whitman, Mass.) made seven saves to collect the win in goal for the Lasers, while Brown took the loss for Rivier, stopping seven shots as well.

Lasell will round out their GNAC regular season on Saturday October 26th as they host St. Joseph's College of Maine at 12:00 p.m. at Lasell's Taylor Field. The Lasers would cap an unbeaten GNAC regular season record with a victory as well as claiming the top-seed in the GNAC tournament. The Lasers will travel to Rhode Island College on Wednesday October 30th for a 4:00 p.m. fixture with the Amnchorwomen in their final regular season contest.
