Women's Soccer Stay Unbeaten in GNAC with 4-0 Victory at Mount Ida

NEWTON, Mass. (9/28/13) – The Lasell College women's soccer team remained perfect in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play with a 4-0 victory at Mount Ida College on Saturday afternoon. The Lasers climbed to 3-0 in GNAC action and 6-2 overall while Mount Ida slid to 1-7 for the season and 0-3 in GNAC contests.

Bridget Lynch (Dover, N.H.) scored a pair of goals for Lasell, and Molly Lauver (Cambridge, N.Y.) and Melissa Leonard (N. Brookfield, Mass.) each scored as well for the Lasers. Leah Pappalardo (Whitman, Mass.) made one save while combining with Gina Grimes (Pelham, N.H.) and Caitlin Greco (Higganum, Conn.) to hold the Mustangs scoreless for the team's fifth shutout of the season.

Lasell got on the board early when Kayla Lynch (Dover, N.H.) found Bridget Lynch for a goal in the match's third minute to go up 1-0. Melissa Leonard pushed the visitors lead to 2-0 in 41st minute with an unassisted tally, and Jessica Stewart (Gorham, N.H.) set up Lauver's strike from outside the top of the 18 yard box beat the keeper up top to give Lasell a 3-0 lead at intermission.

Bridget Lynch scored her second goal of the game and twelfth of the season just four minutes into the second half to produce the final 4-0 result.

Lasell will host Emmanuel College on Wednesday October 2nd at 4:00 p.m. as they look to stay unbeaten in GNAC action.
