Lasell Defeats Albertus 1-0 in GNAC Women’s Soccer Matchup

New Haven, Conn. (9/21/13) – The Lasell College women's soccer team used a second half goal by junior Kayla Lynch (Dover, N.H.) to earn a road victory at Albertus Magnus College, 1-0. The win helps Lasell stay unbeaten in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play as they improved to 5-2 on the season and 2-0 in GNAC play, while Albertus slipped to 4-2-2 and 1-1 in conference action.

Lasell held a 20-5 advantage in shots and an 8-3 edge in shots on goal in the contest, outshooting the hosts 9-2 in the first half and 11-3 over the final 45 minutes.

Kayla Lynch collected a loose ball inside the 18' box and finished it for her fourth goal of the year to put Lasell ahead in the 60th minute. Leah Pappalardo (Whitman, Mass.) saved a shot by AMC's Acacia Nelson in the 87th minute to preserve the victory for the Lasers.

Lasell will be back on the pitch on Saturday September 28th when they visit Mount Ida College for a 1:00 p.m. GNAC contest.
