NEWTON, MA-- Meredith Hessler (Middletown, RI) and Bridget Lynch (Dover, NH) were selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Soccer Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
This is Hessler's first award of the season which she picked up after scoring seven points in two games. She started the week scoring the game-winning goal against Rhode Island College in non-conference action while adding one assist. After that, she notched two goals against St. Joseph's College of Maine in the GNAC tournament quarter finals, leading Lasell to their first conference win against the Monks.
Lynch was recognized for the second time this season as the rookie of the week after scoring one goal and dishing out one assist on Saturday against the Monks. She scored the third goal of the game to keep St. Joseph's out of reach of Lasell, and then assisted on the Lasers' fourth goal.
The Lasers will host the finals of the GNAC Tournament on Saturday, November 5th, at 1:00 p.m. on Taylor Field.
