Lasers Post Lopsided Victory over AMCATS

PAXTON, MA-  A dozen Lasell College Lasers scored points in Saturday's 14-0 women's soccer defeat of the newest member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), Anna Maria College.   The win makes 10 in a row for Lasell (10-2) as well as leaves the Lasers with a perfect 9-0 conference slate to date.  Anna Maria continues on without a win this year at 0-14 (0-9 GNAC).

Freshman goalkeeper Leah Pappalardo (Whitman, MA) earned the win for the visitors without having to make a save in one half of play.  Fellow freshman goalie Amy DelloRusso (Plymouth, MA) preserved the shutout by making one stop in the second half on Anna Maria's only chance on-goal.

Freshman defender Kaley Kiss (Meriden, CT) and sophomore forward Jamie Harris (Lynnfield, MA) led the charge for Lasell with five points each in the contest.  Kiss came alive to provide one goal along with three assists while Harris scored twice and added one helper.

Sam Peck (Woodbury, CT) and Ashley Jenne (Derby, VT) each notched a pair of goals in the victory while senior defender Molly Clarke (Berlin, CT) also contributed her first points of the season, four in total, with a goal and two assists.

Emily Machado (Marshfield, MA) recorded the game-winner just five minutes into action.  Machado's goal is the first of the year for the junior defender.

Anna Maria was forced to play shorthanded the entire contest because of injuries that sidelined multiple players.  The two-player disadvantage was an insurmountable hump for the hosts who were attempted just two shots the entire contest as opposed to Lasell's 55.

The Lasers return home on the Monday Columbus Day holiday to host Saint Joseph College of Connecticut at 3:30 on Taylor Field in their next contest.
