Lasers Top Cadets, 3-1, in GNAC Action
NEWTON, MA- Jamie Harris (Lynnfield, MA) tallied the game-winning goal of Saturday's 3-1 Lasell College women's soccer victory over Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opposition Norwich University.  Lasell scored three times in the contest before Norwich even got on the board which carried the hosts to remain undefeated in conference play at 3-0, and improve to 3-2 overall.  Norwich suffered their first loss of the season and drops to 3-1-1 overall, and 1-1-1 in GNAC action.

Lasell's Jessica Taylor (Standish, ME) and Reegan Brackett (Scarborough, ME) teamed up for the preliminary goal of the contest just 3:57 into play.  Brackett fed Taylor a leading pass down the middle of the field which she launched from 18 yards out to get out in front early.

With the lead in hand, Lasell persisted by outshooting the visitors 13-3 in the first half, and 12-9 in the second half.  It took an additional 72 minutes for Lasell to add to their lead at which point Harris and Jordynn Frollo (Uxbridge, MA) each took turns with unassisted goals in a three minute span.

Harris' goal was recorded at 76:48 after she picked up a deflection off her previous shot and took a second chance at the goal line. Frollo followed that up with her marker at 78:53 off of a direct kick from 25 yards out.

Lasell's keeper Elizabeth Stickley (Mashpee, MA) was thwarted of her first solo shutout of the season in the 88th minute when Norwich's Nikki Szczepanski (Auburn, NY) savvily gathered the ball off a crossbar deflection and netted the Cadets only goal.

Stickley finished the game with six saves and the win for Lasell.

Norwich goalie Meghan Kennedy (Lowell, MA) made four stops in the first frame and then matched that in the second stanza for eight total saves in the contest.

Lasell returns to conference action on the road on Tuesday, September 20th when they head to Suffolk University for a 4:00 p.m. game against the Rams.
