Harris Notches Third Season Hat Trick as Lasers Down Sharks

BOSTON, MA – Freshman Forward Jamie Harris (Lynnfield, MA) was unstoppable for the Lasell women's soccer team on Saturday, recording her third collegiate hat trick in a 3-1 triumph over Simmons College.

 

Harris struck first in the 12th minute of the contest giving the Lasers and early advantage.  Simmons' Justine Beauchamp (Exeter, NH) knotted the score at 34:27 taking an assist from teammate Ashley Wheeler (Nashua, NH).

 

The game-deciding goal was scored less than ten minutes later by Harris, notching her second game-winning goal of the season.  In the second half, Harris would compete the hat trick to safeguard the Lasers lead.  

 

The Lasers outdid the Sharks in shooting (17-9) and corner kicks (8-1).  Lasell goalie Ashley Parrelli (Marshfield, MA) made six stops in the GNAC victory.  Simmons' net minder Ashley Donaghy (Framingham, MA) turned away four shots by the Lasers in the defeat. 

 

In the current GNAC standings, Lasell is ranked second overall with an 7-2-2 conference slate.  The Lasers have one more league game to play this season, at home against Johnson & Wales on October 28th at 3:30 p.m., before heading into the post-season tournament which begins on Sunday, October 31st.  Lasell's next contest is on Tuesday, October 26th at 3:30 p.m. against non-conference opponents Rhode Island College.
