WLax: Lasers Win 20-5 in Final Regular Season Matchup

Newton, Mass.- The women's lacrosse team took the win against Mitchell College in their final regular season game of the season on Tuesday night in a 20-5 game.

The Mariners scored first two minutes into the game, followed by a quick response by the Lasers on a goal from senior Teresa Kessner.

The Lasers continued to take control with two goals from freshman Emily Watson, followed by three more Kessner goals and a goal from freshman Sophia Blair-Goldin and sophomore Kaleigh Kosta.

Heading into the second quarter with an 8-1 lead, the Lasers continued to dominate the game with another Kessner goal and two more goals from senior Kaitlin Bedell.

The Mariners responded with another goal five minutes into the quarter. Mitchell would score one more goal in the quarter, with an additional three goals for the Lasers, each coming from Kessner, freshman Briannah Axler, and sophomore Jacquelyn Scopa.

Heading into the second half with a 14-3 lead, the Lasers continued to score in running time with five more goals in the third quarter, allowing one goal from the Mariners.

The Mariners would score one final goal in the fourth quarter with a final Blair-Goldin goal within the final eight minutes of the game.

Up Next: The Lasers will head into GNAC tournament on Thursday night in Chicopee, Mass. for a play-in-round game against Elms college at 7:00pm.
