WLax: Lasers Drop to Chargers in GNAC Matchup

Newton, Mass.- The Lasers fell to Colby-Sawyer in a 18-6 loss on Monday night during one of their final regular season games of the season.

The Chargers led the game with an unassisted goal in the first five minutes, quickly responded to by senior Teresa Kessner within one minute.

Colby-Sawyer would strike again with four more goals, with a final goal from senior Kaitlin Bedell in the last two minutes to end the quarter with a 5-2 Charger lead.

The Lasers started the scoring in the second quarter with a goal from sophomore Sophia Blair-Goldin to tighten the game. With no Laser goals for the remainder of the half, the Chargers would then knock five more goals in to end the half with a 10-3 lead.

Heading into the third quarter, Colby-Sawyer took full control of the game sending the game into running time with three more goals and only one response from Kessner in the final four minutes.

In the final quarter, the Chargers would tally up five more goals and continue the running time with only two goals from Kessner and Bedell in the last three minutes of the game.

Lasell led the game in ground balls with 13 to Colby-Sawyer's 10. The Chargers took control of the draw, winning 19 compared to Lasell's nine, with 32 shots compared to Lasell's 23.
